Stafford and Hwarangi inspired me with a great idea (well, I think it's a great idea): Post (on your blog, but The Sonagi Consortium is available if you don't have one) a photo of anything in Korea or Korea-related that you think is postcard-worthy. If Korea did postcards. Which it should. And maybe will. If we do this right.
Here's my first contribution (and no, they don't have to be night shots).
Pearls of witticism from 'Bo the Blogger: Kushibo's Korea blog... Kushibo-e Kibun... Now with Less kimchi, more nunchi. Random thoughts and commentary (and indiscernibly opaque humor) about selected social, political, economic, and health-related issues of the day affecting "foreans," Koreans, Korea and East Asia, along with the US, especially Hawaii, Orange County and the rest of California, plus anything else that is deemed worthy of discussion. Forza Corea!

ReplyDeleteWhat's it called and where is it at?
Really like this picture!
The first photo is the century-old Bank of Korea building. It's downtown, at the intersection near Myongdong where Shinsegae Department Store and the Seoul Central Post Office are located.
DeleteI am trying to find the name of the second photo and if it is a temple or any other thing, but all I find is the photo and no comments. Please, tell me more about it.
ReplyDeleteThe second photo is Namdaemun, the great south gate if the original walled city.
DeleteMy home is about half a kilometer from there and I took this while walking home one summer night in 2007, I think.
Since then it was severely damaged in an arson fire and is being dramatically refurbished.
