Thai media is reporting that the five people from Kazakhstan and Belarus may face the death penalty for their illegal arms shipment that was confiscated in Bangkok.
Up until now, the bemused and confused look on these out-of-shape soldiers of misfortune seemed almost comical, but now, not so much.
I'm not a big fan of the death penalty, especially in cases where someone hasn't directly killed someone themselves.
Pearls of witticism from 'Bo the Blogger: Kushibo's Korea blog... Kushibo-e Kibun... Now with Less kimchi, more nunchi. Random thoughts and commentary (and indiscernibly opaque humor) about selected social, political, economic, and health-related issues of the day affecting "foreans," Koreans, Korea and East Asia, along with the US, especially Hawaii, Orange County and the rest of California, plus anything else that is deemed worthy of discussion. Forza Corea!
Let's hope the Thai gov't is just throwing that out there as some sort of political gambit, purposes unknown. Obviously, the munitions weren't intended for use against the Thai government. Well, maybe not "obviously", but I don't think so.
