I predict that at some point in the near future, some Korean all-girl band will (probably at the behest of their managers or producers) do a sogot noch'ul dance (속옷 노출 댄스 ) in an effort to grab ratings and/or get some media spotlight, much like popular Japanese girl band AKB48 has done. Like AKB48, they will get criticized for it, but by then the horse will be out of the barn and headed for the highway. It's all part of the pornification of society, man.

Um... okay. I suppose it's useful to know that the slang term for perineum is "taint." And now I'm thinking Taint would be a good name for an edgy all-girl band.
ReplyDeleteBTW, thank you also for introducing "Mr. Show." I'd heard of it, but never seen it. It was on the air when I was in Korea full time and I don't think cable or AFN offered it.
This is the m.a. of the duo "Foxy," right? I mean, they're always having wardrobe malfunctions and whatnot. Google image search 폭시 for more, um, information.
ReplyDeleteAnd this is the kind of thing Suh In-young was famous for too, back before her group "Jewelery" came back. There's another singer, too, who made her debut in a really, really slutty photoshoot, but the name escapes me.
I guess all of those acts would be condemned by concerned parents, but they went over well with the male demographic.
