And all hope for political reform was lost
If North Korea really does have oil and it really can use it to, um, lubricate the gears of the economy, the fat cats in Pyongyang will have no reason to reform anything. Look at most of the allies the U.S. has in the Middle East, where democratic reforms are about as likely as snow in the Sahara.
